Incorporated in 1971, Artel Communications entered the New York City construction industry and primarily focused on the Health Care installation market. Since its beginnings, Artel has branched out to develop and specialize in communications systems in the fields of education, transit, and industry.

In 1994, Claude Ruimy joined the company as executive Vice President. Following the founder's retirement from the industry. In 1996, Claude acquired the company and became the President/CEO of Artel Communications. In 2004, Artel joined Local #3 IBEW to expand and strengthen its technical staff.

Artel focuses its core business in the public sector providing sophisticated integrated systems to NYCSCA Schools, NYCDEP water treatment plants, NYC Transit facilities, Port Authority of NY&NJ and to many other demanding commercial and industrial projects.
